""When I was a little girl my dance studio took me to see
Chicago
the Musical and after the first number "All That Jazz" the seed was planted in
my heart. For years that seed grew and motivated me to train hard with that goal
in mind. Getting booked on this tour in 2007 launched me across the world to
places I didn't even think about going to. Now I have fans that have shared
their hearts with me and therefore we are now family, in Japan, Canada, Dubai,
and all across the US. Every night when I'm waiting in the wings for the
"Go" light to release me onto the stage to welcome the audience into our
atmosphere, gratitude floods my heart and its as if I'm jumping on my bed like I
did when I first got the call."
Shamicka
living the dream and celebrating that CHICAGO is still
"killin' it"!!
"Other standouts included Carol Woods as Mama, and chorus member Shamicka Benn, who "brought a wonderful physicality to each of her appearances."
-- PQ Monthly, Portland, OR
"There are juicy performances from Carol Woods as a prison matron, D. Micciche as a sob sister, Todd Buonopane as Roxie’s hapless husband, Ian Campayno as a whole jury, and Shamicka Benn in a small, memorable turn as an heiress who solves her problems with a gun."
-- St. Louis Post Dispatch
"Indeed, this pair is a choreographer’s dream. Touring Choreographer David Bushman and Director David Hyslop get every ounce from their highly energetic cast that sings brilliantly and performs Bob Fosse’s original dance steps to absolute perfection. Shamicka Benn as “Go-to-Hell Kitty” makes a particularly strong impression."
